Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Data Entry Staff member to support our hospital’s administrative and medical record-keeping functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining patient and departmental data in our hospital information systems. This role is vital to ensuring seamless communication between departments and maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of all records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter patient registration, admission, discharge, and billing details into the system
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records of patients and hospital activities
- Assist in updating electronic medical records (EMR) with doctor’s notes, test reports, and prescriptions
- Verify data for accuracy and completeness before entry
- Organize and file documents as per hospital protocols
- Coordinate with departments such as OPD, IPD, billing, pharmacy, and diagnostics for data collection
- Generate reports as required by hospital administration
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and hospital data
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/degree in computer applications or healthcare administration is a plus
- Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in MS Office, data management software, and hospital information systems (HIS)
- Good typing speed and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
