Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our computer retail sales and service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining laptops, desktops, printers, and other IT devices. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in desktops, laptops, and peripherals
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems and software
  • Replace or upgrade components such as RAM, hard drives, motherboards, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and health checks on devices
  • Handle warranty and non-warranty repairs efficiently
  • Maintain accurate service logs and documentation for each repair
  • Assist customers in understanding repair issues and provide technical advice
  • Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts and warranty claims
  • Support showroom staff with technical queries and product setups
  • Stay updated on the latest IT trends, systems, and diagnostic tools

Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, IT, or relevant technical field
  • Proven experience as a computer technician or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software systems (Windows, basic Mac, Linux preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
  • Familiarity with antivirus, formatting, data backup/recovery, networking basics
  • Good communication and customer handling skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
